Broker Protection Policy

Our commitment to the brokers who place business through us

Purpose. BrokersBloc operates as a general agency. Our business is to support, equip, and grow independent benefits brokers — not to compete with them. This policy sets out the specific commitments we make to every broker who places business through us, so there is no ambiguity about where our role ends and yours begins.

OUR CORE COMMITMENT

We do not solicit, accept Broker of Record (BOR) changes on, or otherwise pursue the employer-group clients of any broker contracted with us. Your book is your book.

What this means in practice

  1. No direct outreach to your clients.

We will not market, quote, or solicit any employer group that is currently written or quoted by a broker contracted with us, or any group with which you have an active prospecting relationship that you have disclosed to us.

  1. No BOR acceptance against you.

If we are approached by an employer group that is on a contracted broker’s book, we will decline to accept a Broker of Record letter naming us.

  1. Your data stays your data.

Census files, plan information, claims experience, renewal data, and any other employer-specific information you share with us will be used only to support your placement and service of that case. We will not share it with other brokers or use it for any other purpose.

  1. Channel separation.

We do not operate a direct-to-employer sales channel under this entity or any affiliated brand. Our compensation comes from carrier overrides on broker-placed business, not from writing groups ourselves.

  1. Carrier introductions go through you.

When a carrier asks for an introduction to a producer in our network for a specific case, we will route that carrier to you, not bypass you.

When two brokers submit an RFP for the same group

Because brokers compete for the same employer groups, we occasionally receive RFPs from two or more brokers for the same prospect. We handle these situations with the same neutrality and transparency we apply everywhere else.

Our rule: If two or more brokers submit an RFP for the same employer group with the same information, all brokers will receive identical quotes — unless doing so conflicts with the carrier’s own protocols.

  1. If a carrier declines to quote one or more brokers.

We will inform the broker who is being declined and share the carrier’s stated reasoning. We will not editorialize, advocate for or against the carrier’s decision, or share information about other brokers’ submissions on the same case.

  1. We do not override carrier decisions.

Carriers set their own underwriting and quoting protocols, including how they handle multiple submissions on the same case. We do not have the right — and we do not have the leverage — to compel a carrier to quote a broker it has chosen not to quote, or to deviate from its own broker-of-record or first-in policies. We will be honest with you about this.

Appeals process

If you believe a duplicate-RFP situation was handled incorrectly on our end, you may escalate as follows:

  1. Sales Manager. Submit your concern in writing. Acknowledged within five business days; written response within 10 business days.
  2. Head of the Company. If the Sales Manager’s response does not resolve the matter, you may escalate to the Principal for final review and decision.

What we ask of you in return

  • Maintain your active producer license and required E&O coverage.
  • Run all carrier placements through the appointment and processing channels we set up together, so commissions and overrides flow correctly.
  • Notify us promptly if you believe this policy has been violated, so we can investigate and make it right.

If we get this wrong

If a contracted broker believes BrokersBloc has violated this policy, the broker may submit a written complaint to the Principal at [email]. We commit to acknowledging the complaint within five business days and providing a written response within 15 business days. Substantiated violations will result in case-level remediation — including, where applicable, transfer of the disputed case and any associated commissions to the affected broker — and corrective action within our agency.

We reserve the right to change these policies at any time for any reason.
